Since COVID-19 is everywhere, we tried to avoid people as much as possible.
There are a mountains following Polish-Czech border called Rychlebske hory. As
there are no chalets and the ridge is couple days walk, only people willing to
drag your baggage and tent go there, promising much less people than in other
areas. It turned out to be good choice and a lot of fun.

Final part of our Southwest trip takes place mostly in Arizona. We made nice
Blue Pools Slot Canyon, did small hike close to Glen Canyon Dam and on our way
back to Phoenix visited Sedona. Due to lack of time we just did short Submarine
Rock trail.

Four days next to Austria-Italy border in area called Carinthia (or Kärnten in
german). It is wonderful place of large lakes hidden between mountains. We
originally planned bike trip, but ended doing local Via Feratas. Combined
with nice fall weather and very little people around it was great vacation.

Second trip to Madeira island allowed us to visit places we missed last time,
namely Porto Moniz with ocean swimming pools, starting part of MIUT trail, and
a lot of beautiful levada areas like 25 waterfalls.

Alice usually organizes events for boys birthdays. This year was the most popular
theme computer game Raft, where players try to survive on open ocean from
whatever they can find in water. Both games included some ciphers, sport activities,
eating of cake and killing of the shark.

Second part of our week-long trip to Hungary and its almost-sea Balaton lake.
It was wonderful summer vacation with swimming in shallow waters of the lake,
melons, ice cream, camping, running and having fun. On the route back we visited
romantic castle of Sumeg and thermal baths at Mesteri.

During the spring months of each year we celebrate birthdays of our sons -
Honza in April and Dan in May. As it became quite common here, we also invite
some of their friends for a party. Last year Alice prepared Fort Boyard based
on quite famous television competition. This year, boys requested Star Wars and
Minecraft theme respectively.

Last weekend of summer vacation. We spent three days in South Moravia area
called Pálava, known for wineyards, castles, and lakes. We did some swimming,
wine tasting and trips, but our kids especially loved our tent placement in
Apollo camp. We were next to fenced area with goats and sheep. Boys took some
of them for "theirs", gave them names and in every free moment they kept
feeding them.

Family vacation in a small hotel close to Krkonose mountain range with group of
friends. Each day we spent with a trip, for instance Snezka, the highest
mountain in Czech, ruins of Pecka castle, Safari in Dvur Kralove, or Zaly
observation point. Rest of the time filled with desk games, sports, good grub
and wine.

One of largest zoo in Czech is in our capital Prague. Recently they had new
breed of young animals like buffalo, elephant, or anteater. An interesting part
was watching feeding of anteaters, with an inspection of the puppy.

Our boys really wanted to go outdoors with a tent. Last year we were in thermal
spa in Slovakia and we enjoyed this a lot. So we decided on repeating it,
this time selecting other (much less famous) site.

Last year we enjoyed brief visit to Sec dam area, so this year we decided to
try it again, this time for whole week. We hired a chalet with small boat and
spent time on trips, games, boat exploration of the dam, guitar play on
evenings and other nice activities. Despite few rainy days it was wonderfull
time.

We spent whole week at Bozenov place, small camp close to Zabreh in Central Moravia.
This was mostly family entertainment, including bathing place, old castle, farm animals

A week in highlands around town Svratka. Good family vacation with small trips
around our location, swimming pool and various playground loved by our kids. We
even managed some a little longer walks (around 7km) in rocky area called
Toulovcovy mastale.

Our first vacation with recently born son Daniel. We carefully choose location
close to Brno where we live and picked nice hotel just next to Plumlov castle.
During the week we did trips around and visited cathedral in Olomouc as well as
hiked highest hill of Hana region - Velky Kosir.

historical groups, swordsmen, music bands and many handcrafters. You could also
buy potatoe-pancakes, which were just slightly burned.

This garden is part of Agricultural college, often used for students as
learning tool. In some cases it is open for public. The autumn time is

A weekend spent on Vranov dam. It is the most beautiful dam I know, snaking
between rocks, making a lot of curves and nice corners. In the middle of it
there are two castles - Bitov and Cornstejn, the latter is mere walls and some
ruins.

I've taken our family dog to some hiking. We went to visit observation tower,
that had been renewed on Klucanina hill near Tisnov. It is concrete imitation
of original wooden tower with beautiful views all around. Dog survived, as

Every trip has its reason. This time it is my learning drive a car.
I have had a driving licence for a long time, however
I have no car nor experience. For start we decided for destination near my
hometown, Brno. There is flat area with some hills, about 30 kilometers far.
Mostly grapes are grown there, place is called Palava. We have visited two
castles risen above that area.

Sailing along the Svratka river - it was early spring, when there is enough
water. It causes big waves and a lot of lapping. Two experienced crews
together with two first-time crews. They capsize only a few times.
